From 5 to 7 August 2025 Montefiascone will host the third edition of the cultural festival “Panoramas”.

From ongoing conflicts around the world to the changing landscape of international politics, from new and unfathomable challenges for the global economy to the new climate frontier affecting the planet. These are some of the topics that will be addressed during the themed evenings of the event. “Off Panoramas”, third edition of the cultural festival which has been hosted in the historic centre of Montefiascone (Viterbo) since 2023.

The dates: from Tuesday 5th to Thursday 7th August In the coming evening, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele will be the natural setting for the event, promoted and supported by the municipal administration and organized by the Compagnia del Teatro-Caffeina Eventi cultural association. With the valuable support of the Carivit Foundation.

After the enthusiasm and participation of the first two editions, Panoramas Festival returns this year with a new format—focused on offering the latest nonfiction releases—pursued by the local government to concentrate the main events offered to residents this summer on the Faliscan hill during the August period. Three days immersed in the magic of breathtaking views and starry skies, in the unique setting of Montefiascone, a landscape and spiritual haven in Upper Lazio, suspended between the sky and the waters of the lake.

"Panorami OFF" is a special edition, different from previous ones, smaller in size but equally intense in content. "An opportunity to reunite and continue to explore, together, the major themes of the present through encounters, voices, and perspectives capable of generating visions, stimulating reflections, and sparking thought."

It starts on Tuesday 5th August with the presentation of the book “Imaginary Antifascists” by Antonio Padellaro. To follow Mario Tozzi will illustrate his latest work “Technical tests of extinction” (Touring books).

Wednesday 6 August space for Giorgio Arfaras, economist, to present "Philosophers and Tyrants: The Crux of Modernity, the Crossroads between Democracy and Dictatorship" (Paesi Edizioni). Afterwards (at 9 p.m.) he will be on stage Ezio MauroThe journalist, historian, and essayist will discuss current hot topics, starting with his latest work, “Lenin's Mummy,” published by Feltrinelli.

After Mauro, further insights will come from the meeting between Pina Picierno (Vice-President of the European Parliament, Democratic Party) and Anna Zafesova, Russian journalist and essayist, author of the book “Russia, the empire that cannot die” (Rizzoli).

On the evening of August 7th, Thursday, there will also be entertainment and social activities, as per the Faliscan festival's tradition of mixing analytical and in-depth topics with more "pop" themes. It begins with one of the greatest Italian directors of all time, Pupi Avati, to present his book “The American Garden” (Solferino). Space and words then to Gianluca and Tommy Nicoletti, for the graphic novel “In the country where pigs fly, wolves float” (Mondadori ElectaKids): the Radio 24 journalist presents the illustrated work created with his 26-year-old son, a neurodivergent artist. An editorial product, almost an art catalog with Thomas's illustrations: dancing puppets, mountains, fantastic spaces, flying pigs, trees, cats and wolves that communicate with each other in the rebellious world of this young autistic man, immediately reaching the mind and heart.

All the meetings scheduled for Panorami OFF 2025 in Montefiascone will be held in Vittorio Emanuele Square, starting at 9pm (Mario Arfaras's on August 6th at 7pm).
